COVID-19

Hello, if you’re reading this is because you’re somehow interested in the PyCon Italia event and maybe need more information about our COVID-19 pandemic safety rules.

Currently, we have strict national rules about the safety of the places: interpersonal distance (1 mt), mask-wearing, temperature checks and everyone must have an EU Digital COVID Certificate. The congress centre capacity is currently close to around a third of the full capacity, as mandated by the national emergency safety rules.

This means that the economic sustainability of our event will be more fragile because of the fewer tickets we can sell. Thus, we’ve decided that the availability of the different ticket fares will no longer only depend on the date, but also on the total amount of the available tickets for each fare too. Each fare will also be capped.

We hope the COVID-19 situation in Italy will improve in the next few months allowing us to increase the number of tickets we can safely sell, so we can finally all meet together in person again!

What can change with the pandemic evolution:

As stated before, if the emergency situation gets better, as we all hope, we might get more tickets available and fewer restrictions.

What if the emergency starts getting worse again? We are stating a refund policy that covers all the possible situations, in the worst-case cancelling our beloved event again and completely refunding every attendee, as we did in 2020.

What can you expect:

More staff making sure all the safety rules are correctly observed by everyone and more checks at the congress centre entrance.

What’s the EU Covid-19 Green Pass:

The Green Pass is a document that certifies one of these conditions:

  • You’ve been completely vaccinated for 14 days (depending on your vaccine)
  • You’re negative to a Covid-19 test
  • You’ve recovered from a Covid-19 infection in the last six months

If you’re coming from an EU state, Canada, Japan, Israel, Great Britain (including Gibraltar, Man’s Island, Canal Islands) and Northern Ireland, the vaccination certificate you have is a valid Green Pass certificate.

If you’re coming from outside the EU you need to get a Green Pass here with a COVID-19 antigen test (you can do it in almost all pharmacies for 20€, but we’re trying to understand if we can get a fixed booth at the event entrance). The negative quick test gives a valid Green Pass certificate for 48hrs. You can choose to schedule a more accurate molecular test in a lab (costing around 50€) that can give you a valid Green Pass certificate for 72hrs.

The valid vaccines approved by EMA are:

  • Comirnaty (Pfizer-BioNTech)
  • Spikevax (Moderna)
  • Vaxzevria (AstraZeneca)
  • Janssen (Johnson & Johnson)

The recovering certificates must report:

  • ID details of the person (name, surname, birthdate)
  • Information about the SARS-CoV-2 infection
  • Details of the authority granting the certificate

All the recovering certificates must be either in Italian, English, French, Spanish or must come with a sworn translation.
