We thought a lot before taking this decision. We have sifted through all the possibilities, we've pondered problems and looked for solutions. Unfortunately we have come to the conclusion that the best choice this year is to cancel PyCon Italia.

The Python Italia Association wants to officially rise up in support of the Python Software Foundation official public statement regarding the recent happenings and of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Our social efforts will always be against every discrimination and supporting the acknowledgement of diversity as a fundamental value of our society.

As announced a few days ago, we confirm the decision of postponing PyCon Italia 11, to **5-8 November 2020**.

Although the region where PyCon Italia will be held is among the safe zones of Italy (at the moment), our first priority is the safety of our members and of the PyCon Italia attendees, who are coming from all over the world.

Evolution is part of every human being. Everything changes. To adapt, to improve. It is time for us to change, too.
